WESLEYAN CAMPUS ASSASSIN RULES

“Killing”

You can “kill” a person only by successfully tagging her with a sticker dot supplied by SRC. When killing, please try very hard to not actually hurt anyone or damage anyone’s possessions!

Protecting Yourself

If and only if you notice your assassin holding a dot and making a move to attack you or get near you (regardless of whether you are in a safe zone at the time), then you may “kill” that assassin at any time. If you succeed, it is called a “defensive kill.” All the rules that apply to regular killing also apply to defensive killing.

Outside Assistance

No one is allowed to kill your target but yourself. Others may “take dots” for you but they cannot actually kill anyone.

Allowable “Weapons”

Only stickers supplied by SRC are allowed.

Safe Zones

Safe Zones are areas in which you cannot kill or be killed by anyone. If someone attempts to kill you in a safe zone, please inform him that you are in a safe zone and that their “kill” is invalid.

Safe Zones Include:

  • Places where class is in session (the room/area is only safe as long as a professor or TA is present)
  • Either combatant’s living space (exception: if you invite your assassin into your room, it is no longer a safe zone). The common area in the apartments is fair game, though!
  • Bathrooms (only if both the victim and the assassin have one foot in the bathroom – i.e. you may attack into or out of a bathroom)
  • Places of worship
  • Meetings, Practices or STUNT rehearsals (only safe when the mtg., practice or reh. is officially in session; walking to and from are not safe.)
  • The Library

Your Target

Your target is the person you are currently “assigned to kill” (AKA stick them with a dot). When you kill your target, you will be assigned a new target. When the game begins, you will be sent an e-mail which contains your target’s information (name and email address). You will be given a new target within 24 hours of a valid reported kill.

Reporting “Kills” and Death-by-Dots

When you assassinate someone, either while executing your mission or defending yourself from an attacker, you should report the kill as soon as possible to the game administrators via email. You will be given the option to include a detailed gruesome story about how the kill happened and what sequence of events led to it. The report will be posted on the status page of your game for all to enjoy! If the killer reports the kill before the victim has, the victim will be notified and will have 24 hours to dispute or confirm the kill. If the victim does not act within the allotted time, the game’s administrators will assume that he does not dispute the kill, and the victim will be noted as dead. Players should report their kills and deaths as soon as possible so that games can run smoothly!

Dying

When you die, your alias and user account will be publicly linked and everyone will be able to see who you actually were. If you die, we ask that you exit the game politely and with good sportsmanship; there will be many opportunities to play again. Also, when you die, your assassin (the player targetting you) will be reassigned to target the player that you were targetting.

Picture Requirement

You must have a picture of your unobscured face on the internet, linked from your Campus Assassins’ Guild profile. The reason for the picture is to make games more exciting and fair. If your target’s profile contains no links to a picture of her face, or it contains a link to a misleading picture, then you should report this to the Campus Assassins’ Guild via email.

Mission Cards

To speed up the game, we ask that you carry your mission card with you most of the time, and give your mission card to your assassin when he or she kills you. By giving your mission card to your assassin, you are admitting that you do not contest the kill. You assassin’s next target is the player on your mission card, so he can kill that person as soon as he gets your mission card. If, for any reason, you feel that your death is not valid (in accordance with the game rules), then you can keep your mission card. The administrators of the game make a ruling. If they find that your death was valid then your assassin can find out his new target on the website.
